DSA Saudi Arabia meets with SASO to discuss product conformity and sector cooperation
The association met with the Saudi Standards, Metrology and Quality Organization to discuss product conformity, member-company review, SABER-related coordination, and consumer protection priorities.
On 15 July 2026, DSA Saudi Arabia held a coordination meeting with the Saudi Standards, Metrology and Quality Organization (SASO), with facilitation from the Ministry of Commerce, to present the association's role and explore practical cooperation around product conformity and responsible direct selling.
The discussion focused on how the association's membership review can support market trust by checking company documentation, product registration status, compensation models, distributor materials, and alignment with the association's Code of Practice before companies are publicly listed as members.
Areas discussed
The meeting covered possible coordination around product conformity requirements, clearer use of HS codes and SABER-related checks, future technical discussion on automation and electronic linkage, review of the association's Code of Practice, and joint awareness efforts that support consumer protection.
Following the meeting, the association prepared a formal letter and meeting record setting out the member-company journey, requested support areas, proposed cooperation opportunities, and the association's readiness to provide a detailed process map when requested.
